The first season had been nimbly hosted by Jonathan Ross, and the second and third seasons onwards were hosted with female host Alyson.
Every episode begins with the introduction stating the purpose of the series. Penn & Teller come out and are seated at center stage, and eager magicians will perform their act before them, in front of an audience in the studio. Following each performance, Penn & Teller privately confer while the host interviews the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal whether they are aware of the method used to perform the trick, in a cryptic manner, usually by using language or recording the technique and presenting it privately to the magicians to confirm, the method, in order to avoid divulging the secrets behind the trick.
The fourth season will start filming October 4, 2022.

In Penn and Teller: Fool Us, magicians perform magic tricks before American magician-comedians Penn & Teller. If a trick cannot be solved following each performance, the magician performing it is awarded an Fool Us trophy and a five-star getaway to Las Vegas. Season one was shot in Fountain Studios in London, England (for the first time). The second season from now on was filmed in the Penn & Teller Theater in Las Vegas. While they are taciturn and motionless throughout the course during the performance, Penn and Teller can communicate with each by making subtle gestures. They will also sometimes talk to a magician that performs and ask them to repeat a certain action or provide more information.
As of the year 2016, Penn and Teller have published books on deceit, created instructional videos on the art of card playingand have presented a magic show called Penn & TellerThe We are Fooled. Us.
